Teachers
Ms. Roswell teaches 6-12 instrumental music in the Groton Central School District in Groton, NY. In addition to leading the instrumental ensembles, she also directs a jazz chamber ensemble, pep band and has served as the musical director for the annual musical production. Prior to returning to her home state of New York, she taught elementary instrumental and general music in Connecticut.
Ms. Roswell holds a Master’s degree in Music Education from Ithaca College and a Bachelor’s degree in Trombone Performance and Music Education with a concentration in Special Education from SUNY Potsdam. She has studied privately with Hal Reynolds, Mark Hartman, and Fred “Moe” Snyder, and has performed in master classes with Joe Alessi, Charlie Vernon, Scott Hartman, Michael Davis, and Mark Lawrence. Mr. Caza is the Choir Director for the Jr./Sr. High School and also teaches general music and co-advises the Jr. High Drama Club since September 2020. Previously, he has student-taught Pre-K - 5th Grade General Music in the Ithaca City Schools and 9th-12th Grade choirs at Skaneateles High School. He was a substitute teacher for the Moravia CSD before accepting his current appointment at Groton.
Mr. Caza is originally from Moravia, NY where he participated in chorus, band, a cappella groups, musical theatre, marching band, soccer, wrestling, and track & field. Since 2014, he has been a coach for Moravia Wrestling, serving as a volunteer assistant for four years, youth coach for one year, and the Modified Coach since November 2018. He started coaching Modified Soccer in Moravia and Modified Track & Field in Groton in 2021.
Mr. Caza earned his Associate in Applied Science in Music from Onondaga Community College, where he studied voice with Jean Loftus and Dr. David Rudari. While there, he participated in the OCC Chorus, OCC Singers, and a master class with opera tenor Dinyar Vania.
Following OCC, Mr. Caza earned is Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Ithaca College, where he studied voice with Dr. David Parks and Dr. Dann Coakwell. Mr. Caza also studied piano with Dr. Mary Holzhauer and was mentored in music teaching by Dr. Susan Avery and Dr. David Brown.
Among his extra-curriculars were the IC Leadership Scholars, IC Chorus under the direction of Dr. Sean Linfors, and IC's collegiate chapter of NAfME.
Currently, Mr. Caza is studying Music Education at Ithaca College while earning his Master of Music degree. While there, he is studying voice with Dr. Ivy Walz.
